The Weeks That Were

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

I missed a week, so this is a two for one special. Highlights of the week before last include:

  • My parents returning from their travels around the UK on Friday. We travelled back into London on Saturday to see the Catholic Cathedral, Westminster Abbey (closed), Parliament House, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace (all from the outside)
  • Saw “City of Ember” on Sunday with Paul and caught up afterwards.

Highlights of this week mainly include catching a cold and being miserable - I ended up taking two days off work (Wednesday and Thursday) only to be struck down and hoarse across the weekend as well… Still, there are some interesting things afoot this week - but you will just have to wait - specific posts will be coming in due time!

Big Ben

Well it seems life has moved along another week…

  • Started my new contract at the Legal Services Commission. Just a short walk from Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and other London landmarks.
  • I am officially 7 movies behind updating this site: The Princess Bride, Shaun of the Dead, Made of Honour, Sex and the City, The Stepford Wives, Gone baby Gone and Futurama: The Beast with a Billion backs.
  • Our soon to be new residence in Spencers Wood is unfurnished - so I have officially met my quota for the year for furniture stores and web sites.
  • Just realised it has been at least four weeks since I last painted a Warhammer 40K miniature and longer still since I played a Xbox 360 game :( - with no end in (near) sight…

These posts just get shorter and shorter…

  • Finished up my contract at Friends of the Earth - it has only been a short while (9 weeks!) - but I feel I was able to make a significant contribution. Keep in touch. I will keep my eye out on your progress.
  • Shhhh! We’re hunting houses! Lou and I have found our next abode - just waiting on finalisation before saying more…
  • The movie watching has started up in full force again - so I have a backlog (again) to rate and ponder.

Currently feeling a bit transitionary in nature (lots going on) and can’t wait to have things settle down a bit - but its unlikely to happen now before December…

Until next week, (or before)
